What is the WireFramework Method™?

May 22, 2025

Have you ever felt personally victimized by blank pages?

It’s easy to feel stuck when you aren’t sure what to say, how to say it, or where it should go.

Some call it writer’s block, but I call it the “Blank Page Syndrome.”

And, contrary to what most entrepreneurs think, copywriters and designers suffer from it, too.

No matter how long you’ve been in business, no one likes starting from a blank page. I repeat, NO ONE.

When I first became a copywriter, I found blank pages uninspiring, nerve-wracking, and downright confusing. I couldn’t create my best work without a structure to guide my creative process, so I created the kind of wireframing method I needed.

The method began as a way to create custom website strategies for clients. It allowed me to blend best practices in storytelling, SEO, wireframing, design, conversion strategies, and copywriting, but soon, I realized it had the potential to become so much more.

What inspired WireFramework Method™?

There’s a method and process behind everything we create.

After working with hundreds of copywriting clients, I noticed something peculiar about my own. My clients seemed more excited and invested in the website strategy phase than in ANY other phase of the project.

Yes, sometimes more than receiving their final copy.

Naturally, I found it odd since no one came to me initially for “website strategy,” but my clients often don’t realize how much they need a strategist until they experience it firsthand.

By leading with strategy, we were able to make important website decisions upfront, which ensured we were on the same page (pun not intended). It also strengthened their confidence in my writing abilities before I wrote a single word

Year after year, I saw other website copywriters and designers struggle with client project hang-ups, resulting in multiple revisions and rescheduling woes—but I rarely, if ever, dealt with that. Why? Because of my wireframing method.

I spent years wondering if I could somehow translate my content-first wireframing process into something others could benefit from. And that is when WireFramework Method™ was born.

What is the WireFramework Method™?

While the term WireFramework Method™ may be new to you, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients on their website copywriting over the last decade, and ALL of them have seen my methodology in action.

What began as my signature website copywriting process has now been expanded into a teachable, repeatable process for creating personalized website strategies.

WireFramework Method™ simplifies website design and copywriting through a flexible, strategic wireframing framework (hence the name!), which can be applied to any industry or project.

WireFramework Method™ helps:

  • Copywriters confidently own their role as website strategists and position themselves as strategic partners for designers.
  • Designers cut down on revision time and guesswork by turning content-based wireframes into gorgeous web designs.
  • Entrepreneurs create their first website with personality-infused strategy templates and copywriting prompts.

So, what makes this method different from other processes, tools, and templates on the market? I’m glad you asked!

It’s a content-first approach to wireframing.

If this is the first time you’ve heard the term “wireframing,” you’re not alone. While the phrase is relatively well-known in the website design industry, it’s not typically used among copywriters and entrepreneurs.

Website wireframing is when someone creates a visual guide that best organizes and structures a website. A wireframe can range from a simple website sketch penciled on a notebook page to a full-blown mockup design.

My preferred form of wireframing is done in Google Docs. No, really! I’m able to create no-fuss website wireframes for my clients without expensive tools or AI, all while incorporating my expertise in website conversion strategies.

Traditionally, designers have been tasked with creating wireframes, but copywriters have an essential role to play. When copywriters are left out of the conversation, the overall content and website strategy suffer.

So, why is it better to start with a content-first wireframe?

  • It organizes each section of the website copy based on the ideal flow of content.
  • It shows a visual representation of the proposed website before it is developed.
  • It allows clients to make strategic content decisions without the distraction of design.
  • It creates an optimized layout that can be customized based on the client’s needs, desires, brand positioning, offers, and more.
  • It helps copywriters educate their clients on website strategy and boost their confidence before the writing process begins.

Let’s explore the last bullet point in more depth.

It empowers copywriters to become website strategists.

Copywriters and designers agree it’s best to create your copy before the design. This is because your core messaging needs to be developed before a designer can work their magic.

However, there’s a step that comes before copywriting and design that’s rarely—if ever—talked about. I’m talking about website strategy.

It’s not usually clear who’s in charge of strategy. When asked who owns the website strategy, most copywriters and designers will point their fingers at each other.

In my experience, designers would rather skip the strategy phase and get back to doing what they do best: designing beautiful things. However, copywriters often feel ill-equipped to create website strategies because they don’t have a proven methodology to follow.

To bridge the gap, I’m focusing my attention on equipping copywriters to become website strategists. That way, they’ll walk away with the skills and confidence necessary to raise their rates, elevate their positioning, generate more leads, and partner with talented designers.

Because when copywriters AND designers effectively use the WireFramework Method™, they’ll have the tools they need to…

  • Speak the same language, resulting in better collaborations with their clients.
  • Assemble a lean website team that simplifies the entire website-building process.
  • Proactively create website strategies that put clients first.
  • Reduce revision time by making important strategic decisions upfront.
  • Sell their services by following a tested, repeatable creative process.

It ensures a smooth transition into the design phase.

I’ll never forget when a past client told me her designer had called my wireframes a “designer’s best friend.”

After working with dozens of designers, I’ve found that one of the best ways I can add value to collaboration is by streamlining the content delivery process. I’m all about making their lives easier!

Instead of sending one long Google Doc with confusing, unorganized walls of text, I send designers a personalized Google Docs wireframe (like this) that gives them everything they need to start the design phase. I offer to answer any follow-up questions, but designers always have what they need to start the design.

Content-first wireframes make it easier for designers like Sarah of Digital Grace Design to create beautiful websites based on my original website wireframe.

I’ve even tested the WireFramework Method™ with web design agencies. I’ve created hundreds of wireframes on behalf of Nopio’s clients over the last few years, and it’s benefited all involved.

As I prepare to bring my method to more copywriters and designers, I’m filled with hope and encouragement from the successes of these past partnerships. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of what the WireFramework Method™ can be!

It helps DIYers create their first website.

While the WireFramework Method™ is most relevant to copywriters and designers, I’ve met countless entrepreneurs who’ve struggled with building their first website. They often don’t know what to say, where to say it, and how it needs to be organized on their site.

Understandably, they’re not ready to invest in fully custom website copywriting yet, but they don’t want to go it alone, either. Ideally, they’re looking for a guide who can help them get started right where they are without overcomplicating the process.

That’s why I’ve partnered with designers to create conversion-ready, customizable website template designs, all powered by WireFramework Method™. My first Educator-style template collection, created in collaboration with Sarah of Digital Grace Design, recently launched, but there will be many more to come.

You can find all of the templates and companion resources at WireFrameworkMethod.com

The future of WireFramework Method™

I happen to be writing this blog article from the trenches of the official trademarking process (which is why you’ve seen the ™ symbol sprinkled throughout this article). I’m almost two years into the process and have learned a LOT (but more on that at a later date).

There’s still so much that remains to be seen with the future of the WireFramework Method™, but it feels surreal to finally develop my ideas into products, downloadable templates, a blog, and educational resources.

I’m most passionate about bringing my WireFramework Method™ to:

  • Entrepreneurs who want to create their first DIY website with a proven, conversion-focused website strategy that’s built around their personality.
  • Copywriters who want to raise their prices and increase the perceived value of their work by learning the skill of content-first wireframing.
  • Designers who want to simplify the content delivery process by partnering with WireFramework Method™-led copywriters who can help them get back to what they love: designing!
