You\u2019ve heard it a million times before. You\u2019ve probably even said it yourself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t been able to write because I have writer\u2019s block.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I used to think this way too when I couldn\u2019t find the inspiration to write, but then last year, I read a quote that completely changed how I look at this.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t think yourself out of a writing block. You have to write yourself out of a thinking block.\u201d – John Rogers<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cue the Hallelujah chorus! It was like the heavens opened up and gave me the words I needed to hear.<\/p>\n

So forget writer\u2019s block. Why? Because it isn\u2019t real. You give up your creative power when you use phrases like \u201cwriter\u2019s block.\u201d Feeling uninspired can be frustrating, but there are ways to spark ideas to get yourself out of that rut.<\/p>\n

Keep a master list of ideas<\/h2>\n

You never know when inspiration will strike so you always have to be ready for it. Keep a notepad or journal with you so no matter where you are, you can jot down your ideas for a later date.<\/p>\n

Build an archive of posts<\/h2>\n

Use the days where you\u2019re majorly inspired to create multiple blog posts. That way, you have an archive to pull from when your creative well runs dry.<\/p>\n

Take a break<\/h2>\n

Sometimes a hiatus is just what you need to feel refreshed and ready to come back with great ideas. You and your creative heart deserve some rest and relaxation.<\/p>\n

Focus on aesthetics<\/h2>\n

I firmly believe in the power of aesthetics. When you surround yourself with things that inspire you, inspiration has a place to grow. My personal aesthetics are atlas prints, typewriters, journals, watercolors, old records, and even hot chocolate (seriously). Take a few moments to list out what inspires you and adorn your creative space accordingly. It will work wonders!<\/p>\n

So go make some beautiful things today. There\u2019s no writer\u2019s block stopping you. You\u2019ve got this.<\/p>\n
